THE FIRM

JERRY KLER ARCHITECTS IS AN ARCHITECTURAL AND INTERIOR DESIGN FIRM WITH A BACKGROUND IN OFFICE BUILDINGS, MULTIFAMILY RESIDENTIAL, CUSTOM RESIDENTIAL, INSTITUTIONAL, SEISMIC REHABILITATION, SITE PLANNING AND INTERIORS. THE FIRM HAS BEEN IN PRACTICE OVER 25 YEARS.

PROFESSIONAL ASSOCIATIONS AFTER GRADUATION FROM BERKELEY, JERRY WORKED AS APPRENTICE TO PAOLO SOLERI AT COSANTI FOUNDATION IN SCOTTSDALE, ARIZONA FOR THREE YEARS. THE WORK INVOLVED TRANSLATING CONCEPTUAL ARCHITECTURAL AND PLANNING THEORIES INTO DRAWINGS, MODELS, AND BUILDINGS AS WELL AS PARTICIPATING IN AND SUPERVISING CONSTRUCTION AND CRAFTS. ADDITIONALLY, HE WORKED ON  DESIGN DEVELOPMENT AND GRAPHICS FOR A SERIES OF MEGASTRUCTURE CITIES INCLUDED IN ARCOLOGY – THE CITY IN THE IMAGE OF MAN, M.I.T. PRESS. THIS WORK WAS AN EARLIER PRECURSOR OF THE USE OF SOLAR, SITE SUSTAINABILITY AND THE USE OF GREEN MATERIALS.

JERRY SERVED AS A PROJECT ARCHITECT AND PLANNER WITH CALLISTER, PAYNE AND BISCHOFF, A MARIN COUNTY FIRM WITH A NOTED HISTORY OF RESIDENCES, CHURCHES, MULTIFAMILY, AND COMMERCIAL PROJECTS. AFTER A SIX-YEAR ASSOCIATION, BEGAN OWN ARCHITECTURAL PRACTICE.
